Empty Hall

This was one of the many hallways we walked down.
This one was well lit by the sun coming through the windows of the
patients rooms.
We were also surprised to see the electricity was still on.
Notice the richness of the near door. We were surprised that all the
doors were of such quality wood.

that's because they was in between changing it into prison for Cincinnati they had to start somewhere and the kids floor was the easy place to begun and that is someone standing down their a person wanting to know why they would make it look like that for prisoner and not 4 year old to fifty that was made to live in a place that they use fire hole to take shower being hurt and caged like animals and not eating all that time and walking in urine and and only god knows what els a girl that could not talk or walk had a baby and that was not reported how do you think all the kids was up for adoption in the 40 threw the 80 from them

it kinda looks like their is someone floating with their head turned in the middle of the hall. It might just be the sun but still....

The woodwork in most buildings and homes during the victorian era was of excellent quality. No hollow-core doors or artificial materials. A mahogany look was very popular then. Hardwoods were stained to look like mahogany. The doors jambs and knobs pictured definitely look original to the building. The original flooring was likely hardwood and the tile on the walls is definitely not original. The linoleum flooring and tiled walls appear to be from the 50's or early 60's. And I imagine the original source of light in the facility were gas lamps.

As to the quality of the doors, it was most likely very quality wood so as to hold up to violent slamming, kicking, to persons locked in those rooms. It would also help with sound containment.

Seems like you hit the moment when all patients and doctors are all there but in the rooms or somewhere.So clean and real.Like a normal hospidal work day:)

The Indianapolis Police Department uses this facility as their permanet horse training facility on a daily basis. They keep the electricity on to scare away vagrants and so they don't get scared at night, lol.

wow, this picture and all other circumstances in it are amazing. It is weird how no matter what condition these buildings are in, when u walk through them u can still see, feel, and experience what those who have lived there may have felt. In my opinion these institutions need to be preserved to some degree b/c they are apart of our unspoken history.

I am too suprised at the quality of the doors and the electric to still be on. It reminds me of a chilling haunted programme i watched, It is amazing how the doors still look brand new for the abandoned hospital. ~Amazing yet chilling.
