Al took a photo that I captured with my Samsung smartphone and turned it into an amazing piece of art. It was an old shed on the corner of the block where we just recently moved to, and it will soon be removed for the construction of new townhomes. He actually removed a tree that was blocking the full view of the dilapitated shed and finished it off in black and white. I love the picture so much that I had it embossed onto a metal surface and it is something I will keep forever. Thanks Al.

I got to know Al and his wonderful wife on a group photo get-together in the Olympic Mountains and Olympic seashore areas, quite a few years ago (the years go by so FAST). I was inspired then, and am still inspired by Al's constant vigilance for the right conditions for great photography. Al is a thinking man, and doesn't take lightly his own self-made 'photo personality' of patience and SEEING the image in what he is viewing with his eyes and brain. He was able to 'slow down', even with a group all around him, and visualize elements that none of us were able to pin down. His photographic skills and his devotion to getting the right image, have influenced me greatly. He creates his visions with incredible expertise, and with a very large dose of unique interpretations.

On a "nothing to do with photography "basis; just skimming through your pics and comments, town names like Reno and Carson City, are magical to us Brits, who don't travel abroad much,as I've only seen them previously,in old western movies.

This main gallery page is awesome! Congratulations to you and to Marisa for helping you. It's beautiful! I see a comment about the D3 below. Wide choice! I have had mine since 2008 and it is my favorite Nikon of all time.

Wow Al, you moved up to the D3 huh? I guess you're still going strong here...

Did you ever own any DX lenses and if so did you sell them when you bought the D3?

I came over here from a post of yours on the Nikon D70 forum at DPReview. After looking through your galleries I have a suggestion for improving them. Add lots more pictures, you obviously know a lot about composition.

BTW, I think you found the perfect pumpkin.

Hi Al:
thanks for the invitation to your new Gallery. You are starting in the right direction but I would like to ask one thing.

Where are the Ducks?? all I can find is one owl so far

Kidding aside, the home photo's are excellent.
