This pond is situated next to the Pauline Church on the Rock. According to legend of St Stanislaw who was murdered by the king at the altar of the church, eagles brought parts of the quartered corpse of the Bishop here, which then miraculously grew back together. The pond was fenced towards the end of the 17th century and a monument of the martyred saint was erected in its centre. Its waters are believed to have healing properties, especially effective for eye and skin diseases.
