Building of this pier commenced in 1876 and was completed 2 years later in 1878. Stretching 2,295 feet over the sea, Llandudno Pier is the longest in Wales, and is Grade II listed. Its pavilion was destroyed by fire in 1994. Behind is the very imposing Grand Hotel, also the largest in North Wales, which dates from 1901.
