I flew to Leh in January to visit Tso Morari / Karzog to photograph the lake and nomads, many of whom from the Rupshu area are based there during the winter. Unfortunately we were forced to turn back some 15kms from Karzog due to deep sand that had been drifted over the road. Despite the disappointment and extreme cold it was still worthwhile. The term 'cold desert' is perfectly apt.
