I found your website from someones blog about Bolivia. I was having a hard time getting much information about the country, let alone high quality photographs. Your website is the best one that I have found.

Thank you very much.

Jimi Davidson 25-Jan-2009 05:09
Hi Daniel, this Jimi Davidson, remember me? I left Bolivia in Aug. after living there for 31 years. Things were just getting too hot and now that the Petroleum Co. Chaco has been nationalized it confirms that I left at a good time. I worked in Chaco. I happened on these photos tonight and they are truly a work of art. I haven't taken but maybe 10 photos since I left Bolivia but plan to start up soon again. Your photos are an inspiration. I consider mine good but you have a true talent for it. many of your photos are exact photos in the same spot that I have taken in the past...it shows we are drawn to the same interests. Like the shot in La pajcha with the slow shutter speed and the shot overlooking Postrervalle...I know where that exact spot is! Been there several times. The shot of Nova and Dizzy... How they have grown. Keep up the ggod work and God bless you and your work. Jimi Davidson

Your photos really are amazing - & such a beautiful part of the world! I was just wondering if you wouldn't mind telling me how you take photos this good?! sorry its a bizarre question, but i'm quite an amateur and have only got a standard cheap compact digital camera, and would love to really get into photography. (I hear SLR cameras are great but i don't know where to start!) Also its my dream to do mission in South America & may be coming to Bolivia for short term mission this summer & you've really inspired me with your photos, so thank you so much.

Your photos are vividly beautiful! I spent time in Bolivia 30 years ago and lived in La Paz, Cochabamba, Portachuelo, Yapacani, and Camiri. You included photos of many places I also visited and have fond memories of those trips. Thanks again. I only wish I had a Nikon D70 when I was there in order to better preserve those images. My 35mm slides are deteriorating quickly.

Thank you for posting these wonderful images. I am an architect and am planning a house for a Bolivian lady who works here in Switzerland as a cleaning lady. I offered to design the house for her for free but had no idea of the context and the culture. Thank you for bringing this to life. I hope I can help this hard working lady to realize her life dream.

I enjoyed your gallery of Bolivia. It is a most natural and wonderous country. I have paddled sea kayaks on Titicaca and I know and appreciate the country where you live. As a photographer with your talent you are in a great place to produce fine work. Good Luck in the future. I hope someday to cross paths.

Nice shots of the Chiquitos missions. Do you have any more of the churches, for example San Rafael? Do you have any shots of San Jose?

I wonder if you would post a shot of the grey two-story house on the street of the stadium near the old animal hospital (next to a school) in the area of the airport? I womder, too, whether the sugar cane trucks still roll down the road of the airport, and whether that road and the road of the stadium have been paved?
