So many great photos, remember going to race tracks all my childhood. Tuesday,Saturday and not leaving till so very late. Charly Binkley is my uncle and my dads name was Billy. He passed in late 70's. so many other Binkley's raced and were really great. Thanks for very much for sharing your photos, love them.

THANKS FOR A GREAT GROUP OF MEMORIES, BEING FROM HUEYTOWN I ONLY RACED NASHVILLE A FEW TIMES GREAT OLD TRACK, I HOPE WITH PEOPLE LIKE YOU IT CAN BE SAVED AND NOT FALL TO THE FATE OF BIRMINGHAM INTERNATIONAL. SO MUCH HISTORY WAS LOST THERE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
Larry Barnes 17-Dec-2010 00:37
I enjoyed your photos and reading the track history. I enjoyed going to the track in the early 60's. My dad raced in the hobby cars on the short track. His best finish was 5th. He could never get his car to handle like Walter Wallace, or Charlie and Ray Binkley.

These photos brought back a lot of memories. My faher,an avid race fan,and I(8 yrs.old at the time) would head to Nashville every Sat. night in his 1942 Ford coupe with a full-race flathead(tuned by Mr. James Stofel,Malcomb Brady's car builder)and watch the races at the bowl.Kept this up when they moved to the fairgrounds for several years and enjoyed all the drivers.Brady,Coo Coo,Reuther,Crowell,Reed,Eudailey,Jenning,Griggs,Thoni,Hampton,Heard,Jackson Celsor, and all the others provided us all with some kind of great entertainment! Thanks to them and to you for preserving this time from the past with your camera.I am going to share these pictures with Mr.Malcomb Brady and Mr.Stofel's son.

Rebecca Cavanah: Charles Herman Cavanah and I lived together in Goodlettsville, Tn from 1976-1978. He was previously married with children and had lived in Jolie, Illinois. His parents, Margie and Herman Cavanah, lived in Madison, Tn at the time. The last time I spoke to Charlie was 1981 and he was living in Colorado. If ths is the same Charlie, I hope you have found him. I too have attempted to find him just for old time's sake....to say hello and see how he is doing. If you have not located him yet, I am sorry I do not have more information for you. My email address is zepmama@hotmail.com.

Hi Steve, I came upon your site during an internet search for family. I was wondering if we were possibly related or if you know my family in TN. My fathers name is Charles Herman Cavanah and last I knew he lived in Goodlettsville. Besides that I know of nobody else that I may be related to.
Thank you for your time
