Mr. Bill,

I am young and I am a student. I am about to finish school with a degree in marketing and I am planning to enroll in a short program for photography, because that is what I really want to do. I would love to know what school you attended and where you received your training and experience. There are so many options but if there is one thing I know, it is that your gallery portrays the style and effect I wish to accomplish myself. My e-mail address is angel.earthangel@gmail.com should you choose to share your story with less than an amateur with goals to be more than a professional.

Bill,

I could write a Profile Page message exactly the same as yours... but then I'd be accused of plagiarism. So we'll have to walk this path together... and hold metaphorical hands... we're on the same journey. :)

Dave.

Amazing galleries you have here. I did vote on many of your images.
Thank you for visiting my pages too. If you have time and will you can visit my "other" galleries:http://www.pbase.com/dejan

And absolutely love "what have I learned ..." stuff - Lots of it so true for many of us. Did you have one about mistakes removed/amended?

Best regrads,
Dejan
Pablo Yáñez23-Mar-2009 19:20
Bill,

Just had a "walk" through your galleries -- a joy. Got to your page by following back on a very nice comment you wrote for one of my photos a while back (it was one of the images that only photographer, and certain ones, seem to appreciate).

As importantly, I also loved your comments/list on "what have a I learned". I gotta say that I agree with each of the points on your list, including the comment about the pbase-experience having improved you. After 3 years I let my PB account lapse... money was tight and I was trying out a more commercial page to try to offset my photography "habit" 'spences (www.modernstills.com).

So what have I learned: I really miss the community here at PBase and am very glad they let me be a squatter for now. I'll probably renew my account here next month. The way I look at it the "other" webpage analogous to having a very nice office, this however is not replacement for having a nice home (aka PBase).

Cheers,
Pablo

Despite often seeing and enjoying your galleries in the popular galleries list I've just realised I hadn't added you to my favourites before now. Oops! An oversight on my part.

Anyway, keep up the good work. I think there are plenty of galleries I haven't seen yet so will take a closer look now.

Cheers,

Stu

Great work---I especially love the outdoor classroom and the whiteout collection. I just bought the 450D and use it more than my 5D (expensive paperweight thanks to the dust on sensor issues). I just joined PBase and set up my first gallery---take a look!...Marcia Rules

Your galleries are very interesting and inspiring - I must say. Definitely have to go back and look again. Thanks for comments on my galleries.
Moshe Kwart 07-Jul-2008 20:06
My last message didn't seem to load. Ansel would have been pleased to have your Elk Barn in his gallery. Your photography is inspiring. I am moving back towards black and white - the first time with a digital camera. Are you willing to share technique? Do you shoot raw and convert to b/w? Do you shoot in b/w? What on camera filtration? What in camera digital filtration? Suggestions for the range and strength that you have achieved? Thanks.

I Really Enjoyed Viewing your XSi Set Bill

I to just bought the Canon EOS 450D here in the UK , your images are really pleasing , I like two in particular first the Image is of the Ford front end and secondly the Strawberry Fields Image.

I have 3 lens that I will use with My 450D Conan kit lens 18-55mm IS , Canon Ef 28-135mm IS USM and Canon Ef 70-200mm f2.8 L USM (the last I have not used yet) Maybe you could if you have time give me any advice as to shooting what I call "Natural light" images, close to Dusk or Dawn .I think you have a stunning eye for light .

Instead on writing a million times under your images, how much I like them, I make it short: Your images are so artistic and impressive, at the same time original and proving that you have found your one characteristic style by all means. This is, why I added you to my favourites. Cheers, Claudia

Hi Bill - enjoyed viewing your fabulous collection. I'll come back for more...
What I really enjoyed is your "What have I learned so far". When I read it I thought - hey, there is someone else who feels just like me... I can identify with each of your statements. Especially the one about shooting people... just can't get myself to do it yet.

Bill, thanks for your comment on my Saturn gallery. I think you are also capturing a spiritual experience when you convey music as a photograph.
I hope the Merle thing is a reference to Merle Haggard, a Bakersfield native.
Your shots are wildly emotional and joyous. Post more when you can.
