U must be really Birabiro and able to capture some of the beauty of Agerie. I enjoyed it big!
Good job; that is like a message to those who fly home so that they will learn and appreciate the country side instead of jumping from one dance "bet" to the other.

Hey! birabiro......you really are birabiro......places you get to and go to ...man them pic's are so good. It's a great job that you have done. Promoting Ethio, in good kind'a way!!! you know what i mean. But there are some people who are complaining, about not putting in the real thing in our country. But my brothers and sisters, the world knows about our problems, but what they don't know is, how beautiful our country is. Birabiro has taken the first step to educate the world, so let's take the second and the third to keep the show on the road. Imagine if all of us work together with positive attitude like birabiro girl, the tourism industry will be boooming!!!! that way even the economy can get better. So haters, we and the whole world knows what's up?!!! and can't and couldn't do nothing about it. Leave that to the almighty GOD. Praise to BIRABIRO.
Keep it UP SUPER WOMAN!!!!

Fekade,
Please check your email.
Fekade S. Mesfin 18-Aug-2005 20:22
Your pictures are beautiful. I was looking for Lalibela pictures and you have great ones. My intention is to create calendars for our church. I wanted to ask you if I can use your pictures. Our Church, St. Mary Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Los Angeles, distributes the calendars for free yearly. I have also been asked by Debre Selam Qidus Mikael Ethiopian Orthodox Church, Indianapolis to make them a calendar and was hoping to use the same pictures. My understanding is that they will be charging some fee for it to cover expenses for printing. My services are free. We will be glad to post the necessary credit on the Calendar.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Yours Truly,
Fekade S. Mesfin

Hello birabiro .... i like your website a lot ... nice pictures .. i am not an ethiopian .. but i have lived in ethiopia though as a young boy for around 4 years .. i have lived in ethiopia until Haile Selassie was killed .. so i guess till around 1975/76 or something .. like that .. we had to leave the country because of the civil war after Haile Selassie's death and because of this it was very dangerous for us to stay ... we lived in Wonji .. it is a little village close to Nazret .. i was wondering if .. you have pictures of Wonji as well .. i am curious how it looks like now ...

Keep up the good work ..... Best regards .. Jellus

Your effort is admirable. I am not an Ethiopian. I have been in Ethiopia in some parts (f.e. Awassa, Harar, Addis Abeba, Awash...). I would like to advise you to improve the quality of photos (some photos are blarred, made from long distance, it would be necessary tu cut only details from this). One must make many many photos, read about a technique of photografy. I also learn to make photos for years and I am at the beginning. It is the run for the long distance. It is certailny of great interest, that one can get some photos from Ethiopia at an internet website. Keep it up. Ivana

i love it. when ever i see my own people geting involved in the new technologies, man! that makes me so happy. even though we are back ward and late for technology, there are people who make us proud. who ever did this, i would like to say God bless you for the beautiful work you've done. try to up grade it every time. try to change it make it more update. but let me give you a piece of advice. don't give a biased information. i am not saying this is biased. mostly what i see from other webs is too much lies.
keep it up and God bless

I found this site after surfing the Internet and it brings back memories. I lived and saw all those places and love the places and the memories go with them. I’m looking forward to seeing more pictures from other areas also.
Again, it is good to see that there’s still someone out there doing a good work.

Question:
1.May I link your page to my site?
2.Can I make a use of some of the pictures?

I put my step in to your guest book like I always do when I surf the Internet. You are welcome to visit 'my website'.

I agree with the comment written by YH. Thank you brother/sister.
YH 26-May-2004 18:21
I looked at your work, and the comments you have recieved and i might add the pictures are nice and clear. How ever, i'm not impressed where the country is right now, i wish if you would uncover the true current Ethiopia so we can be able to search where did Ethiopia go wrong?. Why is our beloved country despite its fantastic heritage and history, just another dirt-poor third world country?. Why was Ethiopia unable to have the national greatness that we had in the last centurys and fail to pass it to the 20th and 21st century. I'm not criticizing your work, infact i have not even tried what you have done; it is not personal but i just want people to see the current problem deeply, the suffering of our brother and sisters, mother and fathers and the suffering of our beloved country. Lets not be blinded by what we see, instead lets listen to the suffering of our people. Is there enough books in the Univerisities and Colleges?, how about public health?, are the middle classes is able to do business?, is the government heading toward the right direction?, Why does the government supress the local and middle class business people?. Our country and people deserves more than what we see and we have the ability, reasource and knowledge to build our country if the current government is really there to build one nation instead of dividing by religion, culture and ethnicity. Lets not allow the current government to confused, disorganized, and misruled our beloved Country.

Hi Dejene,
I don't mind at all if you use the pictures for your presentation. It's very nice of you to ask first, I appreciate it!

It is wonderful! I found it very nice. I enjoyed looking at it and will certainly invite my fiends to see these beautiful pictures.

Do you mind if I copy some of the pictures on my computer and prepare a presentation about Ethiopia?

Thank you very much for preparing such nice photos and generously making it available on the net.

Auf wiedersehen!

Birabiro, Betam Arif Newu! The sunset pictures were my favorites. The various birds from Awassa are amazing ... It reminded me of the instrumental songs from E.T.V. I also liked seeing Goffer and Keyo side by side although I'm not quite sure if it's a love/hate relationship. I like the humor you throw in here and there. Hope to see more of your picture collection.

Thank you all for the nice words!!! :-)

Hi Terri,
I thought the trip to Bahir Dar was very much worth it! You can take a boat across lake Tana to visit the old monasteries and churches built on the various islands.
If you want to go, you can fly from Gondar to Bahir Dar -- it's only about a half-hour flight. The city of Bahir Dar is built near lake Tana so the lake is very easy to get to. To go to the Blue Nile falls, you could take the bus (about a 45-minute ride) from Bahir Dar to the little city nearest the falls. Once there, it's about an hour hike/walk to the bottom of the falls...
Terri 02-Nov-2003 18:08
Hi ! Thanks for the pics...I will go to Ethipoia to trek in the Simien Mts. for 8 days. I will fly from Addis to Gondar. Should I go to lake Tanis and the Blue Nile Falls too and how long will that take??? Thank-you.

Terri
