Greetings Doug ~
I just wanted to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and the Happiest and Healthiest of New Years!
It was a great pleasure to spend a day with you in the Cotswolds. Hopefully we'll be able to reciprocate the next time you're on our side of the pond! :)

Thanks, Doug, for all the recent comments in our galleries. And sorry we've been a bit slow to respond.
Linda and I both are so appreciative of your photography, especially all the beautiful Gloustershire and
Cotswolds galleries. We haven't been there since 2004 when we visited and photographed Linda's ancestral
home of Coberley. We're sad we haven't been able to return yet, but your photos help to ease the pain.

Hi Doug,

Many thanks for your kind note in my guestbook. I appreciate your kind words very much indeed!

As to your photo's ~ what can I say?

You have some wonderful galleries, full of high quality, vibrant shots, pretty much all of which are characterised by great light and composition. I really don't think there's anything I can teach you about how to take a good photo. As you said, we have a lot in common and I've very much enjoyed being reacquainted with your work.

If I were to make one suggestion, it would be to perhaps tone down the saturation just a shade. You'll know that I love bright colours ~ in fact, I know only too well that my images are far too saturated for some people's taste! But I venture to say that, maybe, yours are another notch further up the scale. Just a thought.

With respect to the amount of comments I attract, I dare say that's down to a number of things. Hopefully, part of it is that people think I take a reasonable photo. But I'm sure another part of it is that I have over 4,000 images on here now, having been a Pbase contributor for several years. Not only that, but I try very hard to return all the comments that are left on my images. I don't always succeed ~ I just haven't the time! But I do make a point of returning as many as I'm able ~ and I always try and find something positive to say.

I hope this helps.

Thanks again for your warm and generous remarks.

I wish you all the best,

Chris

Hello Doug, What a wonderful selection of photos you have in your gallery, I was most interested in your Cotswolds selection. I could spend hours just looking at your beautiful work. I recently returned to NZ after 8 weeks in the UK, I did visit a small part of the Cotswolds. My ancestors are from Leonard Stanley and Kings Stanley (near Stroud) in Gloucestershire...Im slowly sorting and uploading my photos. Anyway thank you for sharing your very lovely photos, your work is very inspiring.
Dawn.

Hello! (waves back)
Thank you very much for your kind comments and continuing support, it is always nice seeing your comments.
I find browsing through your galleries very enjoyable and informative, as you have a good eye for composition and great technique - your HDR-treated images are of special interest to me, as I'm just starting out trying my hand at this technique.

Keep up the good work!
