"There should be three species in Massachusetts and C. meralis is easy to rule out.
C. clavipalpis occurs in both pale and maculate forms and this is obviously a maculate form of C. clavipalpis or C. multifera.
Without genitalia examination it’s probably not possible to be 100% sure, but C. multifera tends not to have reddish areas on the wing
and the white satellite spots around the reniform are more obscure,
so I think it highly probable that this is indeed Caradrina clavipalpis."
