This is the only one of my outdoors petunias or calibrachoas that I saved from the 2023 warm weather growing season. I left all the others outdoors for the cold weather to claim.
To prevent budworms https://pbase.com/britestar/image/174095890 from possibly coming indoors with this one, all of the dirt from the top third of the pot was removed and replaced as a precaution. Having shown no problem with the budworms during the growing season, I decided it probably would be okay to risk bringing this one plant indoors. I so wanted to save this plant. It is extremely difficult to find. It might be impossible to replace.
Having been inside for over two months now, "Holy Smoke" is continuing to grow and flower profusely without a hint of any problem. I'm glad I decided to risk bringing it indoors for Winter color. IMO, it's a beautiful, flowering plant. And it's healthy.
Petunias and their cousins (in the Northern Hemisphere) are not considered Christmas season plants, but if it grows for you indoors, why not? Pretty is pretty. And cold weather petunias (or their cousins) are a treat.
