CCTV Three Kingdoms Studio in Wuxi
Prominent among roadsigns around Wuxi are directions to the CCTV Base. It is a six acre plat of land along the shore of Lake Tai, where China Television(CCTV) has filmed many of its' classical series. Like the familiar Universal Studios in California, there are sound stages, and long established sets used for backdrops. The main theme of the Lot, however, is the period of the three Kingdoms of China, around 300 B.C.
March 12 was the first truly spring day of the year, and we enjoyed our time in the sun and among the replicas of a time past.
Saudi Arabia and Dubai
Our Daughter Laurie and her husband Tim live and work in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We spent two weeks visiting them and seeing the sites around Riyadh. We used part of a 9 hour layover from Riyadh to Beijing to take a whirlwind tour of Dubai, including a night visit to the tallest building in the worls, over 1/4 mile high, and the super posh Atlantis Hotel at Palms Island, where they have an indoor aquarium with sharks, mantas, and whole schools of fishes big enough to feed a family of three for a week.
Experimental images
Some photos suggest more than simple portrail of an individual. In these few images there was a sense of everywhere or anytime.
