i LOVE my FUji S7000- I have had it for about 1 and 1/2 years and it is wonderful! My only complaint is night photos. I dont like using the flash at night because everything looks too bright and doesnt have all the lovely shadows like at night without a flash. It is more natural. However the problem is that the objects tend to be out of focus and have a red hue. If anyone has tips for low light photos let me know. And please check out my photos....they are ALL shot with my s7000!

Hi Heath Cope, I am just going to stick with the S7000 and my Fisheye for the time being. I am thinking about upgrading to a D/SLR but I also want to see how the New S9000 performes and what the price is before I decide. Jim

Great photo of the insect, but as the pic slows the samples page down every time a user refreshes it, don't you think it would have been more prudent to place a link to your photo instead of the actual photo itself? Geo.

Hi Jim, I also have a S7000 and am very pleased with it...as far as I am aware there is not a decent 3X lens for the s7000.. I have the olympus Tcon 1.7 (1.7X) and results are fantastic.. I can also stack a Raynox 1.50 and a Raynox 2.50 macro lens then attach the tcon and get nice macro results, the tcon is quality..Example of macro close..using the above..

I have a Fuji S7000 and I love it but I wanted to get in closer, so I got a 3X digital tele converter and the results I am getting are ..............not very good. i HAVE BEEN USING MY S7000 AS LONAS IT HAS BEEN OUT , I THINK ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF. MY FRIEND BOUGHT A NIKON D100 AND AFTER COMPARING PICS HE TOOK THE NIKON BACK AND BOUGHT AN S7000. I PHOTOGRAPH LIGHTNING AND I DONT HTINK I WOULOD USE ANY OTHER CAMERA, ONLY COMPLAINT: I DONT LIKE TO OLD STYLE SCREWIN CABLE RELEASE ON THE FIRE BUTTON AND A LITTLE HIGHER FLASH BECAUSE I HAVE TO USE A NON TTL FLASH WHEN I USE THE ADAPTER SO I CAN USE COKIN FILTERS. IF YOU GET A SET OF AUX. LENSES, YOU WILL NOTICE THAT A LARGE WIDE ANGLE SCREW ON LENS WORKS BETTER BECAUSE WITH A SMALL WIDE ANGLE LENS YOU CNA SEE THE EDGE OF THE LENS. THIS DEFEATS THE PERPOSE OF A WIDE ANGLE IF YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO ZOOM OUT TO GET A CLEAR VIEW. IF YOU DO FIND A LARGE WIDE ANGLE SCREW ON LENS , YOU HAVE TO PUT THE CAMERA INTO THE FORST MACRO MODE SO IT WILL FOCUS.. CHECK OUT MY PICS ,I MAKE A COOL GRIP FOR THIS AND ALMOST ANY OTHER CAMERA

Hi, I agree with just about every thing that has been said about the 7000 and like Aukipa I think we owners should take advantage of the situation and learn as much as we can from each other. I got my 7000 when a friend re-kindled my interest in photography in August last year, I did not have a lot of spare cash so I sold a Rolex that had been sitting in a draw for about 20 years, I got 650 pounds for it and would have been happy to spend all of it on photo equipment, but when I looked around I could not find a better camera than the 7000 for the money, so I had some cash left for a drink or 2. Can any one please tell me if they have found a way of stopping fast moving birds etc; and keeping them in focus. Also I would love to hear from you if you have used any zoom lens bigger than the 1.5 that Fuji offer. If you follow this link,http://www.pbase.com/boydog/image/39620431 you will find a couple of shots that David Walsh has taken, with a .5 wide angle lens, and his comments about it, thanks for sharing Dave. Superb camera, i have always been a sony fan, but after doing a bit of homework, decided to go with the S7000... It can be as easy or as complex as you feel comfortable with, nice learning curve to get to know it fully...

Amazing camera I tossed around the idea of switching from an SLR to a point and shoot and after using this camera for two days their is no comparison. For my suituation I don't think this camera could be better (maybe faster focus and wider angle lens). I put it on a tripod with 10 sec timer and took two pics with my wife and they are the sharpest photos I have ever taken I am now a fuji 7000 guy. I also bought a slave flash with the hand grip for around 70 dollars and it is even better Vivitar DF200 This will work with any popup flash I will be posting up some tests shots later do yourself a favor give this camera a try you wont be disapointed

I purchased my Fuji S7000 5 months ago. It has not failed me. The images are crystal clear. Living on the Atlantic coast north of Boston I take numerous digitals of ocean storms. The camera has all the "bells and whistles" that I need. Thanks for sharing.

I really like this camera. I wasn't sure if my hobby merited a Digital SLR for $1000+ so I picked this one after alot of research and seeing the one my brother brought back from Japan. My only complaint is fast action shots are a bit hard to get but the nightshot mode makes up for it. I also have got some cool shots using the "chrome" setting. Too bad there's no Sepia.

It's always good to find all the facts and figures before buying a new digital camera. FujiFilm Finepix S7000 is a choice camera for portait, landscape, still, macro, and outdoors. You must see our Flower (www.pbase.com/aukipa/orchids) and Gecko (www.pbase.com/aukipa/geckos) galleries. We captured most of floral and fauna images with macro feature. One of the great features is the chrome color setting. That will give your photo an extra kick with saturation, esp. good for landscape with sky, ocean, foliage. However, it does not work well with flesh color or shaded objects, and it tends to give you mostly underexposed. The only set back is the half-second delay on shutter trigger. It's a challenge to shoot a fast-moving sporting event. If you are using FujiFilm Finepix S7000, I encourage you to join this discussion. Let's share our experiences. I have owned my Fuji S7000z for two months and really love this camera. Easy to use and the zoom and macro features are great. It has all the features that I currently need.
