Diana Suzanne Hall Burns, age 65, of Texarkana, Arkansas, joined her Heavenly Father on July 15, 2011. She was born July 22, 1945, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late David and Etta Lee Hall. She graduated from Central High School in 1963 after which she was employed by Southern Bell Telephone Company. She was united in marriage in 1982 to John Burns in Austin, Texas. She retired from AT&T in 1990. She was employed as Chief Financial Officer of Frank Williams and Associates in Memphis. Diana’s love of animals is reflected in her numerous pets and volunteer efforts to rescue, rehabilitate and release hundreds of injured and orphaned squirrels brought to her from as far away as Dallas, Texas. Diana became a member of Trinity Baptist Church when she and John moved to Texarkana in 2003 where she made a multitude of new and lifelong friends. She became a member of City Church in Texarkana in 2011. Diana is survived by her husband, John Burns; two sisters, Marilyn (Roger) Clements, Becky/Bambi (Frank) Williams; a brother, David (Carol) Hall; a nephew, James Clements and numerous cousins. A memorial service will be held in Memphis, Tennessee at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception, 1695 Central Avenue on Sunday, July 31, at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a memorial fund established in her name at City Church (P. O. Box 3234, Texarkana, TX 75504), the Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
