SALISBURY - Rodger Lyle Armstrong, age 66, of Salisbury passed away Saturday, Feb, 2012, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House in Winston-Salem.
Mr. Armstrong was born May 28, 1945 in Murray, Ky. and was a graduate of Central High School in Memphis, Tenn. He was also a graduate of Christian Brothers College in Memphis. Rodger served in the U.S. Marines and was retired from the W.G. "Bill" Hefner Veterans Hospital working in the Accounting Department.
Those left to cherish his memories are his former wife Sandra Lovejoy Armstrong; sisters Carole Phillips (Bob) of Jacksonville, Fla. and Beverly Jane Norman of Charlotte; nephews Robert Phillips (Cathy), Ross Phillips (Diana), Todd Phillips, David Norman, and niece Maggie Farrington (Brad).
Visitation and Services: A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2012, at the Salisbury National Cemetery with Military Honors and the Patriot Guard Riders.
