Flowering Baby Cactus

Madera Canyon, Arizona

Found on a walk through Madera Canyon in the Santa Rita Mountains south of Tuscon, AZ.
This little one was less than 2 inches tall. Part of its beauty lies in the fact it was only one seen on my walk today through the high desert.

wonderful!! a productive walk that also may have brought you much satisfaction in finding these great macros! you will put me to shame! what w the surgery tomorrow and the extreme dullness of winter weather here in the n.e., i will be hard put to find anything for my own challenge. a fine example i am!! (beautiful color and clarity on that flower, btw.) shu
