I have yet to develop or process any of my Yellowstone River images from my wonderful, sort of, ramble through the American West in 2014. Everyone remembers being stuck in unmoving traffic, pounding the steering wheel for your massive bad luck being locked in a traffic jam from hell due to an accident you eventually pass...and go Whew, no matter how bad your day is, those people in the accident are having a much worse day than you.
A young 8 year old girl fell to her death here at the Lower Falls in 2014 which is why I will not work the images....I was not within visual sight, but rather over on the right, maybe a hundred yards away, but up by the falls....I volunteer to rappel down, an unknowable act of hubris and egotism and selfishness beyond being believed...a helicopter couldn't get in due to the winds off the raging cataracts of the falling water...the idea was so silly the Park Rangers shooed me way like the foolish old man I was.
But I remained available. For hours. Until they brought her up.
History lingers....I have reserved a campsite for myself for a bunch of nights this coming July...
We will see the pulls and pushings of History up close and personal.
