Paul, no place of note.
I've been in the trades since 79', mostly wearing a welding hood.
I've worked at oil refineries, power plants, chemical plants, clean rooms, hospitals,
and have spent quite a bit of time in fab shops. Never been to a nuclear plant.
I have a pretty good rep. for making X-ray welds, but age and eyesight problems
are starting to taking their toll. Golden years my ass.
Two more years and it will all be behind me.
I will say that all that welding gave me the steady hands that can handhold a shot down to ¼ of second.
I did put the original shot in pending if anyone is interested.

Since your a pipe fitter have you worked in any notable projects or facilities? Myself as a electrician my most interesting project would be working at Wolf Creek Nuclear power plant when it was being built. It was a eye opener and a fascinating experience I remember well from over 30 years ago. Paul

This is art fair stuff. You could go commercial if you wanted.

The work in post is the part that eludes me... I've wanted to do this kind of treatment on other images.

Did I mention that the flashlight and camera were handheld for this?

A dark background, a light behind your head, a flashlight pointed at your face,
and a camera with an articulating screen so you can tell when everything is aligned.
A bit of work in post, and there you have it.

It's brilliant. You have no idea how much I've wanted to be able to do something like that.

Absolutely not. I spent a good amount of time to get me to look like this.
I think I ran this through NIK filters twice and through ACR and CS6 three times until I liked it enough to leave it alone.
The kind of weird lines on my face are from the Oit Paint filter in CS6.
I really like what that filter does to hair and fur, skin, not so much.
Gotta take the good with the bad.

I hope I'm not insulting your photo by saying it looks more like a very, very good drawing.

Well, I am a construction worker, a pipe fitter by trade, so I guess to real me came through.
