We stayed at The Alhambra Super 8 once also (I liked Alhambra) but the one I’m talking about is on sunset right by the dodgers stadium at the intersection of Vin Scully Ave. I was sure glad there weren’t any games scheduled when we were there.

Well, you were actually on Huntington Drive...a very large divided street that runs along the length of the San Gabriel Mountain Range...though not close, still the entire length.

That Super 8 you refer to is actually just slightly over the border of Alhambra falling into Los Agneles/El Sererno....and you would not recognize it now...the large green belt center divider is now a homeless tent city...but with substantial tents, wrecks of tents, but still substantial...it is really pretty shocking the change...I don't get up that way often but I really should photograph it for you because you would be surprised, in the extreme.

The area was always borderline rough once you crossed into Los Angeles City territory...but it is well over the line now....and no toilets, no porta potties...and yet, if you were going to be homeless, probably better here than in Kansas. (sorry to say)

Makes some sense to me now, except for the 55mm, we stayed at a Super 8 on Sunset a time or 4 just up the street from there. I remember walking down that hill once to a CVS and it got dark before we made it back. Naturally I was a little concerned about our safety not really knowing the neighborhood and the drunk we passed puking in the street didn’t help calm my nerves much either. Paul

This is a different perspective than what you normally see, which is maybe why I like it. This is off the very beginning of Sunset Blvd. but on a side residential street heading up the hill on which sits Dodger Stadium. Traveller

That’s a nice vantage point you have, must have been on a parking structure of some where since I thought most of the LA businesses were still MIA. Paul

Very sharp and clean.
It does feel peaceful.

A view showing no traffic would further reinforce the title.
