You know, I had such great success with buying a used 6D Mark II and, more importantly, a used 24~105 F4L from KEH...I saw on amazon that you could buy what are called renewed phones....very inexpensively...I am considering it but I am too busy at the moment to pull the trigger, *so to speak.

Best Wishes, Traveller

Same here! I think the only real method to score a new phone is to change carriers every few years since the free/low cost phone is a 24 month commitment. Paul

I frequently get emails or texts from AT&T offering a free iPhone, but they all involve adding another line to our family plan. We already have me, my wife, and our son on the plan. We have no other kids. Who are we going to add? Perhaps we could sign one of our cats up for a phone?

Being a apple phone guy (I despise apple PC computers) I’m not one to offer advice on android phone choices.

I did get the following text from T Mobile today. Maybe right down your alley, powerful but budget friendly phone for a budget minded guy.

“T-Mobile: Awesome news! You can get the new Samsung Galaxy A54 5G for only $99 when you add a new line (via 24 mo. bill credits). Just call 611 or visit us today: t-mo.co/NewGalaxy4U”

My Vietnam made phone you mean? So old it is not even listed anywhere anymore.

I am thinking of trading up...another Samsung or Pixel? Any recommendations?

Thanks, Traveller

Alastair what Chief “Cheapo” isn’t saying is his phone is just as antiquated so they pair perfectly. I also have the free Apple Air Pods minus the pro and agree I’ll never go back to corded. Paul

I do not stick anything other than cotton swabs in my ears. I use a pair of Bose over-the-ear noise cancelling headphones when traveling. I liked my old ones better because carrying extra batteries was easier for me than recharging.

Wow! That is ancient! I love my bluetooth wireless earbuds. I have a pair of Apple Air Pods Pro, that I got almost free when Apple was doing a giveway with their education store a year or two ago. You got a free pair of Air Pods with a purchase of a laptop or tablet, or you could pay $40 to upgrade to the Air Pods Pro. The pair I have do wonderful noise cancelling, so I use them on flights. I also have a pair of Chinese ear buds that are almost as good, and only cost $50. I wouldn't even know how to go back to wired ear buds. Where do you plug them in? Nice shot, by the way.

What I’d like to know is do you still use these or have you upgraded to the new fangled fancydancy 2.4GHz wireless 🛜 otherwise known as Bluetooth buds? We could take that a step further and add the ANC feature but that pushes the price point significantly higher. Paul
