Mountain Gorillas of Rwanda and Uganda, Jan. 2007

These four galleries feature pictures of mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda. All pictures were taken in January 2007.

UPDATE: Since returning home from Rwanda and Uganda, we have kept in touch with Francis, one of the park rangers who guided us in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Amazing shots, Chris! I just returned from two days of trekking with Susa and Kwitonda in Rwanda (Dec 28 & 29, 2007, which was absolutely an unparalleled wildlife experience. I'm already planning my return. An hour with these majestic creatures goes by so quickly. I'm planning to return and spend a week! As you mention, the lowlight and vegetation "tricking" the autofocus makes capturing the incredible images you did all the more challenging

Dec. 2, 2007 Chris, your gorilla photos are fantastic. I found your comments/ suggestions helpful but I need more info from you. I have a once in a life time chance to travel to Africa and hope to see the gorillias June 7 or 8, 2008. My e mails to Francis did not go through nor did I get response from calls and e mails to ORTPN. Do you have an e mail address where I can e mail you? Thanks D
