I have a pair nesting in a tree near my home in Gonzales Tx. It was a welcome sight and they will be fun to watch from my front porch.

These a frequently in and around my yard when they are here in Far mid west part of San Antonio. They love the corn from my deer feeder.

Saw a pair of these on our pond today in East Texas. We have two Indian runners living there that we feed and shelter. I guess they saw them and stopped to visit and eat. Our runners won't go near the floating house we built for them but the black bellied whistling ducks were perched on top of it. Hopefully they will stay and use the house.
