Hi! My name is Amanda Boyette and I was born and raised in Florida. Growing up, my family on my father's side would tell me stories about vast reaches of land our family once owned and the legacy of our surname. As I've grown up and moved to the frozen north, me and my brother Matthew Thomas Boyette have found an interest in preserving the history of our family. My grandfather was the late William Gary Boyette, may he rest in peace, who lived with the rest of the family in Frostproof, Florida. I'm planning a trip in November to write down some of the oral history before it passes quietly into history (and to take a crack at finding that lost cemetery!). If my relatives are believed, my brother and I are direct descendants of the founders of Boyette, Florida. We are weighing DNA tests to confirm and cooperate with this project. I unfortunately can say with great certainty that we would probably be the only ones willing. Rural Floridians are a very opinionated people. I'll ask anyways. I'm not sure if anyone visits this website anymore or if I'm just yelling into the void, but I still want to mention I'm here and looking. Hello, What a wonder site. MY name is Elizabeth Parks. I found my 6th and 7th ggrandfathers on your tax Records Number 30 Nicholas Hunter and wife Elizabeth. I believe Numbers 379 and 760 is his fathers. I thank you so much for your hard work. I have been searching for years on my William Wright line and he married Nancy Walker? Son James Walker Wright born 1767 N.C.? Died 1853, Sevier County Co. Ark. He is my 4th ggrandfather. I have hit one brick wall one right after another. Story goes his father was born in Va. But this site has made my day. I am 73 years old. trying to get things in order for my children and grandchildren and theirs. The Boyett(e) line is very difficult to track. There are, from my research, also some Boyt, Boyd, Boyer, Bowyer, Boyar, Boyatt, and even Galento's in the mix. I am of the Albert Sydney Boyette Sr line. Feel free to contact if you'd like to collaborate in these muddy waters.
