Scanned from print purchased from Steve Young. Found by me on Sat 11th Novemeber 1995. 1st for Shropshire and a simultaneous 2nd for Staffordshire as bird frequented both sides of the County Brook. Twitched by many including Eric Phillips who came from Wolverhampton on his push bike and one Swiss WP lister on his way home who'd been on Scilly. Other notable birds I have found at Knighton over the years include Red-necked Phalarope, Snow Bunting, Sandwich Tern, Common Scoter. In the past Ruddy Duck, Willow Tit, Tree Sparrow, Corn Bunting and Turtle Dove were common, sadly all lost now. Spring and Summer 2022 brought a resident male Cuckoo, that was common until the turn of the millenium but now far less regular.
