Comparing a 105mm f/2.5 AiS Nikkor and its white balance performance on the S2 with a 105mm f/2 AF-D D.C. Nikkor of year 2000 vintage. Both are good,extremely fine-condition lens samples. ALL photos were done at f/5.6 and 1/250 second under outdoor cloudy/lightly raining conditions. Four-shot sequences,with a blank shot in between, first the manual focus lens, then the autofocusing lens. Custom WB's were set using the chair as the target,and NO ATTEMPT was made to match the meter up shot to shot,and cloud cover differences may well have lead to differing degrees of exposure.
