Doug, I'm a releived man, and you are the reason. I happen to own a Canon Digital Rebel XT.
Over the last year I've influenced two of my grown kids and one brother in law to think hard about buying one themselves,they did love the camera and still like me a little.This year one son called and asked for a lens recomendation to give his wifes camera a bit more flexability. I'd noticed the Tamron18-200mm and having once owned a film camera with the same general range new it was a useful walk around lens for the casual ametuer.
He got the lens as a gift for this Christmas,daughter calls and says whats a good "everything" lens Pop? You know what I answered. Brother in law and my best friend for close to fourty years call,"hey I want to buy the wife a new lens for her XT,what should I get? A third time is the charm,I hoped. Well two of the three are shooting already and are happy,the third won't be revealed till Christmas Day. I just now (Nov. 26 '06) found your pictures taken with this lens,may I say "Bravo" and thanks so very much for the "real world" testing,it beats the hell out of super techno results which most of us don't comprehend nor ever put to use.
