Second of two views from Green Hill Fort on Thursday Island.
To the left across the passage is Horn Island, known to the Islanders as Narupai, area 5,300 ha, population c. 600.
To the right is Prince of Wales Island, known to the Islanders as Marulag, area 20,000 ha, population c. 20.
In the distance lies Entrance Island, known to the Islanders as Zuna, area c 500 ha, population c. 20.

Hope these houses didn't suffer from the high tides and recent cyclone Don - a great shot
showing the islands, makes a pretty scene.

There must be quite a lot of interaction between these isolated islands. The vegetation looks lush - I would have expected palm trees, etc. at this latitude. Your shot gives one a very good idea of the area. Guess the bad weather missed you ?
