smelter ruins

A century ago, this smelter employed 1,000 people, extracting mainly copper and lead but also some silver and gold. It now seems out of place in a quiet little town in the Australian outback.

Un paysage étonnant avec ces cheminées qui se dressent dans cette nature.

That's one tall chimney! I'm surprised the bricks etc haven't been recycled and the buildings repurposed - unless its now considered a 'historical site'. A fine composition.

I am surprised the vegetation hasn't taken over more in the way it has our old cornish mines
