This is at the Şah Melek mosque, from 1429. It's one of my favorite spots in town, very quiet, great atmosphere.
From TrakyaGezi's site I quote (Google-translated): "Shah Melek Pasha, who built the mosque, had important state affairs during the reigns of Celebi Sultan Mehmet and Murat II. Musa Çelebi was his tulip when he was serving as the governor of Amasya. It shows great benefits in the conquest of Rumelia during the time of Mehmet Çelebi. He is given the task of guarding the Gallipoli castle. Then he ascended to the post of Rumeli Governor.
The mosque, built next to the Gazi Mihal bridge, is adjacent to the Gazi Mihal Mosque on the opposite shore. It is located in a courtyard. It was built using smooth cut stone and brick as a material. The eastern façade is made of cut stone. The mosque, whose original minaret was destroyed in the Balkan War, also suffered from the swelling waters of the Tunca river from time to time.
The portal at the eastern end of the north facade is decorated and 1 m. It is protruding. There are plaster ornaments on the mihrab and verse inscriptions around it. The crown gate is one of the first examples of stones and glazed bricks.
Shah Melek Pasha lies in his graveyard in the courtyard. Another myth about the mosque, which was flooded from time to time due to the floods of the Tunca river, is the most familiar feature told about the mosque. According to this myth, a pilot on duty during the Cyprus Peace Operation shows usefulness by firing at the targets he pointed out with his moral support. Shah Melek Pasha, who appears to him spiritually, asks him to come and visit Edirne one day when his duty is over. When he forgets after a while, the pasha goes into his dreams and says , "Save me!"he says. When the dreams get more frequent, he chooses to go to Edirne and keep his promise. When he sees that the graveyard of the mosque is flooded with floods, he realizes what the dreams will be tired of and tries to do his part by ensuring that the graveyard is rearranged and the garden walls are raised."
