walking poles/mono-pod

Mahomet, Illinois

After reading about the exercise value of walking with poles,
I made a pair for a small fraction of the sporting goods store price.
In addition, I added threaded studs to attach my camera.
2 - 4 ft, 7/8 inch diameter hardwood dowel rods.
2 - bicycle grips
2 - rubber cane tips
2 - 1/4 inch x 20 bolts, approximagely 1 inch long, or use threaded rod stock.
Cut off the bolt heads and epoxy them in holes
that have been drilled in the ends of the dowel rods.
Leave only enough thread exposed for about 2 or 3 "turns".
Then the camera will snug down on the bicycle grip without
hitting without the bolt hitting bottom in the camera tripod socket.
Add a ball grip to facilitate rotating camera to portrait orientation.
