Hi Georgia,
What a surprise! I really feel happy having discovered your galleries and especially your youtube videos.
You traveled an amazing number of countries and shared beautiful memories.
You've a great eye for interesting scenes and places . I'll spend a lot of time to peruse your work and admire your photographic skills.
Cheers,
Ger van Hulst.

Came to your site for a preview of Buenos Aires and Iguazu (where we are going in about a week). Also enjoyed several other galleries, including places I've been and hope to get to. Beautiful work!

Thank you so much for visiting my Versailles gallery Georgia. I will enjoy your beautiful work on a regular basis now and have added you as a favorite. :)

Dear Georgia, your pictures are beautiful and I often go to pbase to look at them, but I would like to ask you a question, how do you get so bright colours, especially red and yellow. I have a 18-200 tamron which i bought after having seen your photos but I am not able to obtain the same results, not even in post production. you must have a secret. thank you in advance for an answer, and thank you also for sharing pictures.

I really enjoyed looking at your galleries and seeing your beautiful photography again! I don't remember how I first came across your photos several years ago - probably one of your POTD winners - but you were my inspiration to buy the old UZI. I just wish I had a smidgen of your talent! I still love the old UZI and bring it out fairly often.

Georgia, I want to thank you for your comment on my sand dune gallery. I've heard so much about you from Carol that I feel know you. I took a quick look at your stunning galleries and know that I will return to them very soon for a closer look.

Wonderful Galleries. Thank you for sharing. You have a good eye for capturing a moment and bring fascination to those that see your work in their homes. I do agree with "so many places, so little time". I think you would really enjoy a trip to Iran.

Georgia,
Your pictures are stunning! Thanks to you I just ordered the Tamron 18-200 lens. I found your pictures when I was searching PBase looking for examples taken with this lens, and not only are yours the best by far that I've seen, but you have definitely proven all of the comments about this lens not being sharp wrong!! I love the portrait of the man with his camel. Wow, the focus is dead on! I have the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 lens and it is my favorite lens. As a matter of fact a friend was over today and I tested the Tamron versus his Canon 24-70 f/2.8 L lens, and the Tamron is sharper. We tested them on his 5D. I would love to know more about your workflow, assuming you are using CS2? Thanks again!

By happy accident I found your work at Pbase and I'm speechless by all this photographic beauty. Sure I will be back to admire your marvellous work. It is too much splendour to consume in one day.
I especially like the particular perspective in many of your images.
Thanks for showing these excellent photos to the world!

I really like the gallery of turkish delight. Turkey is a country of contrast. However some people feel really unconfortable and unsafe to deal and to face these kind of real local people's life style, the modest expression of their face. As a turkish woman I like the way that you presented all of them as it is.

Really enjoy your travel portfolio. I stumbled across your Buenos Aires gallery first, then found your Antarctica and the rest of your travel pictures. I too visited both places recently -- in December 2005. Antarctica was incredible. Some of my pictures are at

I was looking for Santiago, Chile since you went with Lindblad. Surprised I didn't see any.

I'm going to purchase 350D. The problem is what lens for travel? All good lenses like
70-200 f/4 are big and heavy. Now I see your gallery: the pics are EXCELENT!
and what lens? Tamron 28-200. All forums say that lenses like that 28-200 are "bad".
Can you recommend me good lens for travel.

Hola,

Your pictures are beautiful and bring out the traveler in myself. I came to your gallery looking for pictures of people and architure from different countries as teaching materials for my daughters Montessori preschool class. You had so many, it was hard to choose.

My husband is from Venezuela and has traveled alot in South America and Europe. As our three daughters, ages 8,5 & 3 are getting older we are so looking forward to traveling to different countries with them to expose them to the wonderful world outside of the United States. We are planning to spend the entire summer this coming year in Spain and the neighboring countries. After looking at your photos I'm anxious to see all the beautiful places and take pictures of my own. Thank you for your inspiration!!

Happy holidays! Lisa

Thanks Georgia for your comment on my photo! I feel it has a haunting quality. Another fellow and me went out one cold Dec. morning to shoot eagles(with our cameras of course) and as it was quite foggy we decided to drive around for some other possible shots when we came across this field. The fog started lifting just as I took it! We then were able to find some eagles and got some fairly good photos.

Wow Georgia

I'd not come across your galleries until your message on my Cornwall one. You are an amazing photographer so I feel very honoured that you said you liked some of my photos.

You seem to travel widely and so I can see why, when you have a bad experience in a country, it's easy to say 'oh I won't bother to go there again' but please don't let your rainy trip stop you from visiting the UK again. It's actually rather nice!!!

Your French and Spanish galleries are fab - you have truly captured the essence of those places. Is Mystic the place from Mystic Pizza? I've seen the film (years ago) but remember quite liking it! How cool is that!

Anyway, thanks again - your galleries will certainly be on my stopping places in future.

All the best

Linda

And thank you for all the positive comments on my images.

Hi Georgia,
Thanks you for visiting my various galleries and leaving positive feedback.
I am truly flattered.
You and Wendy are the 2 main photographers who have inspired me and made me feel passionate about photograhy again in the last year or so. I still fondly remember that you helped me take the ugly powerlines out of a photograph when I was new to the camera and newer to editing softwares (am still not good at it).
Your travel photo posts are unique and a joy to watch. And most of all you contribute in a big way in making photography fun.
Thanks again.

I found your georgiabyte web site several years ago and was impressed then; discovered pBase just a few months ago; looks like your pictures are taking over this site. Congratulations!

I've been corresponding with a Tallahassee lasee who just finished spending summer at the south pole, working for Raytheon; she was a teacher at McClay there in town. Her family is meeting her in New Zeland. Now that I'm retired, I'm enjoying the photography, computers and some travel also.
My homepage is:

hmmm I dont know if i would agree that you are a "retired" teacher... I have been learning things daily as I browse throught your galleries. Thank you so much for creating such a wonderful collection of images from [everywhere]. As a fairly new photographer, I have been having so much fun just shooting nearly every thing that strikes my eye... and I have seemed to do this in only about a 500 mile radius.. lol. Your photos give me inspiration and drive, and also alot to gaze through with smiles (your photos).

thanks again,
David Bakaleinikoff

p.s. and if you need someone to carry your equipment on any of your photo ventures, Id be glad to. :-)

I envy you for the travelling that you do and the photo's that you take.
Although I've been to quite a few of the places that you've been to (recently Vietnam and Cambodia), I haven't got the time and the money to visit some of the other places (Antartica!!!).
And also when I'm pleased by my own photo's, your photo's just amaze me. They're great.

Thanks Georgia for the first positive comment of one of my photos... ever, makes it all worthwhile (I'm 56, no spring chicken!)
I'm not sure what they had in mind with the road/bridge construction but it was very unusual, with a pullout where you could park between the two (old and new) bridges. From there it was just a matter of some creative cropping of the lower ground brush (you can still see some of it on the lower left) to create the "suspended" look.
Thanks again for your comment, it's nice to know someone enjoyed viewing one on my shots.

I visited Vietnam, mainly Hanoi, in 1994 and 1998 and loved it. Rather a change between these 4 years and as I see it has also changed more until 2002. However, the atmosphere which you so beautifully captured seems still to be the same.

Very nice pictures of Morocco. Particularly in the Sahara section. I don't know if you have any more pictutres of Volubilis, especially the tilework in some of the remaining structures. I was amazed when I visited that the place is so open. Seeing the tannery photos brought back memories (olfactory as well, the stench of decaying flesh mixed with mint)

Awsome pics, Georgia! I am retiring in two years and I hope to see at least
half the places you visited. Did you feel safe in Peru? I would love
to go and see Machu Pichu. I envy you that one! :-) Yukon

Georgia- you should have spent more time in Cape Town! Its my home city, and has so much to offer- one needs at least 2 weeks to sample its delights... Nonetheless I loved your pictures- although the captions are hard to read.
I am a new and keen digital photographer- for some new angles on Cape Town check out www.pbase.com/robtarr

Happened upon your site when I was doing reseach for our family tree. I am looking for decendents of Theodore Roessler who came here from the Mosel River area of Germany. Are you related in anyway?

Hello Georgia,

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful photos with us. Your pictures are beautifully taken and do a great job of conveying a real "feel"
for the locales.
I have some pictures on my page from my years growing up in Guatemala - have you ever been there? I think you would find it to be a
photographer's paradise, and I imagine that you would come back with an amazing records.
Again, thank you and congratulations!

Very nice galleries. I wish, one of these days, I'll be able to reach this quality!
As I'm a newbie, I don't advise you to check my galleries (waste of time).
Do you know why some of my pics can be displayed in differents sizes and some not? Is it just random?

Jean Paul Genet Saysoan 28-Apr-2002 00:57
Like what I saw Georgia. I'm a painter, as in selling paintings for 25 years. You're good.

Dear Georgia,
what a wonderful idea, your website! Shure, I had a lot of fun. It will need much more time to have a look to all. You have allways been at so many beautiful places, it is like a trip around the world. What happens Germany? It would be a good part for your collection too.
Thank you very much, in love, your Elke and Achim!

Hello there Georgia
I'm working my way through all of your (91) galleries, (1937 images) and although it's pretty slow work on my dial-up connection, it's a pure joy. I see your posts on the oly 2100 yahoo group and always have a wee chuckle at the subtle humour in your posts. Great stuff :)
Cheers, Donald McDonald, UK.

Hello Georgia. I looked through some of your galleries and like your photos very much. There is a forum called Samples and Galleries on a website called www.dpreview.com where people post photos. I think your stuff is very good and invite you to post your photos there for comment.
