Can anyone give me some biographical information about gary becker? Someone I know bought parts of a storage unit that had several paintings by this artist.

I echo the relief that dear Gary's pictures, illustrating his wonderful take on life is back online.
His images sing and still have the power to make one laugh, or cry.
A dear man and a great photographer.
God Bless, Gary.

Hello Maestro! Looks like you list of admirers is growing. Well done. Still my favorite photographer. The old trail as you enter Lakeview Park is worth a look and good walk for the dog. Park at the closed gate before you turn into the park and walk to the left to the "highlands". Keep up the insiprational work.

Is this the Gary Becker that used to live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and then moved to Dallas many moons ago? If so, please contact me...would love to hear from you.

Gary,

Your galleries are amazing. Sharpness, exposure, composition, colours and subject matters are all always appropriate, expressive and well chosen.

Thank you for your comments, I value them a lot.

Kind regards, pep.

william mahan09-Dec-2006 02:57

Gary: You need to try using some of this thin packing foam that comes in sheets. I fished some out of my yard that was blown by the wind. It can be used to make some interesting shapes and to frame things like I did with the Flowers(artificial)that you commented on.
annievanleuven 03-Dec-2006 02:54
Hi Gary...these "Train Bits" are wonderful. The Klandinsky shapes & colors I love. I'd hang any one of them on my wall.

:D Takes one to know one!

I'm keeping all my pinhole stuff in my f295 gallery. There's a couple of links on my profile page (or just go to www.f295.org, look for the gallery, I'm there).

Drove me nuts having to make different sizes for different websites. Simpler this way.

Ed Knepley04-Sep-2005 14:49
Gary, You left a comment on my railroad station image wondering why the moon didn't blow out with a 5 second exposure. Good catch. I must apologize. That is my single photoshopped image in my galleries - the moon was cloned in from another image. I did it to protest our club's competition rules which basically say that "an image is an image" regardless of how it was done (anything goes). I told the competition committee that for the nightscape theme competition I would enter Moonrise, Manassas with a cloned moon- and if they didn't object to its entry I would no longer compete until they changed the rules. I am no longer competing with that club (after 4 photographer of the year awards). I'm going to add note to the image so no one else wonders why the moon came out so good. I have that image in a local exhibit - WITHOUT the moon.

Regards,
Ed K.

Hi Gary
you have some great creative images, i have only explored a little for now, but will be back soon to explore a little more
Guest 25-Mar-2005 02:27
You know what I see here? A total willingness to explore, both broadly and deeply, into the visual and graphic nature of everyday life and objects. You make the normal appear fantastical. In fact, your fame is spreading and I heard a rumor that there is a film in production: "Being Gary Becker". :)

Thanks for the comment. I'm going to crop the picture when I get some editing softwear. By the way, the man is a deaf and homeless person that spends every night at that very spot selling sign language info cards. It is in front of a liquer store and close to a university, so we university students know him well.

James

By the way, I know your advice is good after looking at your gallaries. Thanks again.

Lady bugs doing it! Really Gary. The torn awning shot is a compelling study in monochrome. The leaf is delicious. Is there blond hair in the family now?

Hi, had downloaded the site but just got around to viewing it....it is GREAT....love the pictures and want to know how you got so close to an owl? Sorry it took so long but we were in and out of town so much. Will be looking for new additions.
