A most extraordinary thing. About 20 mergansers just swimming along when suddenly they went into a total frenzy. It was so sudden and was over so quickly that I did not have time to set my camera so it came out over exposed. I have lived here for a long time and never seen anything like it. The lake was totally flat, but the spray from their fracas must have been 12 ft in the air.
