Sometimes you discover a gem among the rocks, and it really makes your day.
Yashica made a few versions of the 35-70mm lens, and most popular ones are the cheap 35-70mm f3.5-5.6. I came a cross a ML 35-70mm f3.5 constant aperture zoom, and I was pleasantly surprised. It reminds me of the Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 35-70mm f3.4 lens I once had.
This lens is very well made. Constructed mostly of metal, except the rubber on the focusing ring. It has a good weight on the hand. The filter size is 62mm. Very good wide open for a zoom that's made so long ago; event at the far edges. Colour and contrast is excellent. One stop down, and the lens is very very sharp.
