First day of shooting at Chilkat River
© Liz Stanley

Here's me at one of the places we pulled off. There is a road going through the preserve, along the river, and numerous places to pull off with great viewing. There were eagles in the trees right by us, very close in the river, flying by continuously, and across the river. Three different photo workshop groups were there, but there was plenty of room for everyone. Actually the weather wasn't bad at all, in spite of the forecast of wind and rain, we had neither. It was generally cloudy, with the sun poking through a couple of times.

Oh that lens is sooooooo pretty. V My husband says it would be cheaper if I was into jewelry but you can't share jewelry with the world, can you?

Well "guest", the camouflage probably didn't make a difference - an eagle can see a human no matter what they are wearing. It's more important to watch the reaction of a bird to determine how comfortable it is with your presence. Considering I was able to get within 20 feet of many of these eagles, I'd say they were OK with us being there!

i like the camoflauge, the birds prolly didnt even notice the 50 of you about 200 feet away.
