flower dreams

This is my April 26th image for CreativeMatrix. It reminds me some
of an old print my aunt had hanging over her bed. One of those still
lifes of flowers and insects. I used to look at those a lot as a child.

The door opened. Although it shouldn't have. And I looked. Although I shouldn't have. And the air smoked hard , scratching my windpipe with a musty cough. I couldn't look away, any easier, than that forbidden space could shut itself away from me. We were impossibly drawn and obsessed. I felt the shiver of decay, like dead winter flies, fallen from a forgotten crevice, and onto the back of my neck. I smelled the crinkle of long ago autumned petals, of their broken faded love, molding pitifully in a corner. I breathed the dust, carrying the final vestige of some laboured soul. And nothing, but nothing, could prepare me for the colors of my imagination, which petrified my heart into lead :O!

That mix of animal and vegetal with cloth material is fascinating. The colours blend well together as well.
