A group of Lesser Scaup taking Off.
Scaup have been coming and leaving during their migration these past three to four weeks. Some seem to stay for a few weeks. They usually stay in the middle of the pond or far from the shore in the adjacent river. Presently there were some 15 in the pond and an other 20 or so in the river. They are mostly female Lesser Scaup or juveniles, mixed with a few Greater and the odd adult male.
