Two images of the male Praying Mantis. This Mantis was only around for about a week. I usually found it in a shrub not too far from where the female had taken up residence. The male was only around for about 7 - 10 days, after that I did not see it again. I suspect that it had done its duty, got the female pregnant, and was then promptly rewarded by being beheaded and perhaps even eaten by the female, similar to what happened last year. Then I found the headless male body on my front step.
