20121016 127 SERIES - Snapping Turtle 1r1.jpg

Mud Lake

Three images of a Snapping Turtle which we found crossing a road between two ponds. We encouraged it back to to the side of the road so that it wouldn't be run over by a car. Maybe we directed it back to the large pond where it came from. If so, it will no doubt try the crossing again. Perhaps it is looking for its place to hibernate.

Getting set to run.

Clipping right along.

The ungrateful Snapper didn't want its picture taken, nor did it say "thank you for helping me to the side of the road".

Splendid series of shots of this magnificent turtle. THey are so pre-historic looking and so vulnerable to being hit by cars. I think I like the first shot best, but they are all excellent. V
