Whilst two of us were cautiously approaching an all white male Snowy,still at considerable distance,it suddenly flew away. The reason; this larger female flew in and perched on this post only some 15 to 20 meters from us. I suspect that the female was looking for a carrot (which we didn't have) and the smaller male wisely decided to get out of the way as Big Mamma is the undisputed territorial boss.
