Six images taken some years ago showing a helping hand being instrumental in saving one of two young Kingbirds.
.
Top Image: A heavy wind storm tipped the Kingbird nest causing one of the two young to be thrown/blown from the nest whilst the other one was able to hang on for dear life. We were not able to locate the dislodged young one.

Two of us searched the river shoreline for something to tie-up the nest with. We found some lawn chair strapping with which I was able to secure the nest to a horizontal position as shown. Here the remaining youngster is comfortably sitting on the edge of the secured nest.

A few days after we had secured the nest, the young Kingbird fledged and was found perched nearby on a branch where Mom joined it to provide some breakfast.

Breakfast having been served, Mom is ready to fly off again.

But, junior is still hungry so it decides to spread its wings and follow Mom.

All this while Dad is watching and standing guard a short distance away.
