What's going on here? At first glance you have some amazing landscapes. Some of the softest sand I've ever had between my toes, not to mention
some of the most colorful. More pyramids than one can count. Some of the nicest people I've ever met, not to mention, the toughest - walking around
the Sahara with nothing but their camels and a smile...

Honestly, you wouldn't even know that what is being called "The Biggest Humanitarian Crisis" since
the genocide in Rwanda is going on right down the road.

A wonderful gallery and great observations. We were gutted when we heard we wouldn't be travelling through Sudan - the company we travelled with advertised that we would, and that was the reason many of us had chosen them. Looks like I missed out on an amazing experience. I think if I did another overland trip I'd quite being a skinflint & go with Dragoman too! V

I think you missed the point. Money is being used by the government to make themselves comfortable, and not going to where it is needed most. Their are bridges though, as well as some new housing, although not nearly enough or affordable. Their are some really posh, modern buildings going up though. As for roads, refinery and sewer ...I don't know, where are they? Thats my point.
