I really wanted one of these in the late '70's and got into them in the earliy '80's. Had at least one since 1981. They are very underrated and under valued. Everyone wants a Mustang, but not the car the Mustang killed:(
I drove a 1962 hardtop through most of my college days in the 1980's. I put on 50,000 miles and it got 25-30MPG. I miss it, but not its ho-hum defroster!
We currently have two and one needs a new home after 18 years of ownership. I gave it a gallery here, our 1967 Corvair convertible:

Kool pic. This model/year was my first car! My dad dad told me he was bringing home a Corvair and I thought he said Corvette! You can imagine my surprise when he showed up in a Corvair. It was not a kool car for a teenager in the early 70's. Now I wish I had it!!
