Pomeroy, WA
Part of the historic genre of Muffler Man oversized roadside attention-grabbers.
He first stood next to the World's Largest Covered Wagon in Nebraska. In 2001 he moved to Cody, Wyoming, and as recently as 2006 he could still be seen at the west entrance to that town, in front of G's Cowboy Shop, wearing a red shirt and black stetson, and holding a branding iron and taking a drag on his big cigarette.
By 2010 he'd been sold to a business owner who was also the custodian of an A&W Root Beer Burger Family, and he then moved to Billings, Montana. 2018 found him on the move again, this time next to a gas station in Pomeroy, Washington. His latest reboot loses the cigarette; sensible next to the gas pumps and to act as a "Hey kids! I don't smoke and neither should you" role model. His mustache is gone, he's grown a soul patch. His new tie-dye vortex shirt is colorful.
Also included are some amusing claims seen at an adjacent wrecking yard.
