The Boise Moon Tree was grown from seeds that were aboard the Apollo 14 command module in Jan/Feb of 1971. Stuart Roosa (NASA astronaut and former smoke jumper) brought hundreds of tree seeds with him on the trip that were later germinated, studied, and gifted to various entities.
