Carved on-site in 1972 by artist Richard Beyer. He said that it depicted a man getting drunk with a cougar, but everyone at Western Washington University calls it Man Humping Bear. Weather and time have made the sculpture less recognizable, but Man Humping Bear t-shirts are reportedly still sold on campus.
