Return to Ankara

After living here in Ankara, Turkey, for four years and then moving to Okinawa for three, I've returned to Ankara, a city that I enjoy in a country that I love. I had taken many film shots all over Turkey when I was here before http://community.webshots.com/user/helenpb_/1 and am looking forward to doing the country (or at least part of it) in digital this time. Hopefully this gallery will grow and improve once I get settled here and can revisit my old haunts. All images taken either with Sony V1, F717, F828 or H1, Nikon D70 or Nikon D200. These are wonderful! I'm Turkish American, and my father's family all live in Ankara, which is where I have spent most of my summers. These pictures are all sugoku natsukashii yo (Nihon ni mo sundeita kedo, Okinawa ni ha mada itteinai :(). Many thanks for creating such a brilliant photo base!

hi helen very nice pictures really. i have been to ankara before on business but unfortunately i did nt have a chance to visit samanpazari. i went shopping only in Tunali street. i wonder if u can tell me more about shopping at samanpazari. is it safe to go there on my own? what about the prices of rugs? i would really appreciate it if u can tell me something about the place because i ll go on another businesss trip soon, thanks in advance.
