My wife's snapshot of me while I was working. Despite the cheap and cheerful camera it printed very well at the time and she managed to get it published. The technology we were using (microwave distance measurements and theodolite angles to lamps or heliographs) seems terribly primitive nowadays. As of course do film based cameras. But the big question is: Would we still have digital files of our treasured memories after 37 years? Another equally important question from the surveypr's point of view is: How many of our points are still in the ground now and how many have been destroyed either accidently or deliberately? While GPS can replace our coordinates, probably far more accurately, even a rather faded negative is better than missing digits!
