Colorado
As soon as I arrived at Denver international airport at noon on June 2, 2007, I picked up a rental car and drove 2.5 hours to Garden of the God in Colorado Springs. I stopped by the park's information center and got some advice about photo locations. The balcony of the information center is one of the best photo locations for red peaks. The weather was changing so quickly, I had to take pictures between hailing and raining break. 2-hour stay in the park had allowed me to visit most of the interesting sites and have a short hiking.
At 8:00AM in my second day, I arrived at Bear lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. My original plan was just visiting Bear lake. Thanks to an advice from a volunteer guider, I had a three-hour hiking along dream lake trail and caught some breathtaking scenery beside dream lake and Emerald lake. The snow peaks, water falls and quite lake waters were impressive. After the hiking, I headed to Albert Water Falls. It was a 1.5-miles trail. The Aspen trees, streams and rocks along the trail provided me a lot of photo opportunity.
The short photo tour in Denver area was just great. I am sure I will go back to Colorado again.I am looking forward to visiting Dallas Divide; Great Sand Dunes National Park; Garden of the Gods; Maroon Bells (Maroon Lake); Royal Gorge Bridge.
